I am a morning person, so I wake before my children and start my morning routine. Most days I wake up at 5:30 am to pray, read the Bible, shower, get dressed, and prepare breakfast.
If you are not a morning person and you work late at night, you can wake up at the same time as your toddler.
Wake the toddler up and start the morning routine, including getting dressed and making the bed.
If your toddler is a morning person, have a morning rule for him. In my case, they remain in bed until 7:30 am (we have a toddler alarm clock that we set). At this time, the toddler plays quietly in her room.
Breakfast and brushing the teeth
If your toddler is not a school-going child at this time, you can read, craft, and play. Also, school-going time. At this time, I do laundry and clean the morning dishes. Sometimes I engage in activities like coloring using coloring books.
Snack time for your toddler.
independent playtime or go out. Train your toddler to play alone for an hour each day.
If the weather is good, you can go for a 1-hour walk.
Back from out and have lunch.
Nap ends-during naptime I work on my blog.
Snacking and screen time: If not screen time,, they play outside with neighbor children.
At this time I update my social media account for 1 hour.
Then afterward prepare dinner
Get ready for bed
The bedtime routine includes reading books, brushing teeth, snuggles, and hugs. At this time, I also do my evening routine.
The above routine might change in case your toddler wake to get to daycare. In such a case the toddler is supposed to sleep early between 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm and wake up between 6:00 am -7:00 am.
Those who stay at home can get to bed at 8:00 pm and wake up between 7:00 am and 8:00 am.
Every family has a different schedule, so find out what works best for your family.
If you want your toddler to remember their routine, you can purchase a routine card and hang it in the appropriate room.
For instance, hang morning and bedtime routine cards in the bedroom, mealtime routine cards may be in the dining room; bath routine cards in the bathroom.
You can also decide to set an alarm to remind them.
