Waking up early
One of the secrets I have realized for the last four years is waking up early in the morning. Waking up early makes my day productive and you do so much stuff in the morning.
If you are not a morning person don’t force yourself to wake up early. You can try to find the schedule that works for you. May be working late at night or mid-morning.
I always wake up 1 hour before every one in the house.
After waking up this is not time to check social media or emails.
Create this time to uplift your mind.
I always start my morning with a word of prayer
Read the bible
After praying I read a chapter a day. Sometimes I use bible apps.
After reading the word of God I meditate and plan for the day
I do 15 to 30 minutes simple exercise at home.
Other activities I do early in the morning is reading a motivational book /listening to a podcast or watch a motivational video.
Prepare for the day
This is time to take shower, brush, comb hair, and dress up. Make sure you put on clean clothes, not stained clothes. You can put on makeup. Who said if you are stay at home mom you are not supposed to look good and pretty.

As I prepare breakfast I take a glass of warm water. Sip warm water as you wait for breakfast to be ready. Find out the benefit of drinking plain warm water/lemon water in the morning on an empty stomach.
Wake the kids up
If you have school-going kids this time to wake them up. Take breakfast together and prepare them to go to school.
Start cleaning chores
At this time everybody is up, taken breakfast and mostly they have prepared themselves for the day.
I start doing things like:
- Making up the bed-Read importance of making the bed
- Cleaning utensils
- Do laundry
- Clean the house- check my house cleaning schedule
Work on my blog
If you are a blogger like me you can start working on your blog. Check hobbies you can do as a stay-at-home mom and earn money.
Most stay-at-home moms don’t create time to eat. It’s work and work… Even if you are alone at home prepare a balanced diet lunch for yourself sit down and feed.
In my case, I prepare lunch in the evening so when the time comes you just warm the food.
At this time I can decide to take 30 minutes nap. Afternoon nap help me feel energized to handle other task in the day.
Update social media account
After 30 minutes of naptime, I update my social media account. Follow me on my Pinterest account.
I always do laundry early in the morning so by afternoon clothes are dry. I fold them and store them.
I always make sure dinner is ready before 6pm. 7pm we take dinner together with my family.
After taking dinner I clean dishes, pick up toys in the sitting room, wipe kitchen counter and sweep the kitchen floor
At this time children are asleep. Husband help put children to bed.
I can read a book, watch a movie or continue working on my blog until 10 pm.
Prepare for tomorrow
Before I sleep I set out clothes for the next day.
In case am traveling the following day or kids going to school I pack for the next day.
Most people wonder you don’t run an errand but I do shopping over the weekend.
The above routine is what I follow during the weekdays but on the weekend I take a day off.
Sleep long hours and create quality me time on Saturday. Sunday I don’t work on my blog I relax on the couch maybe crocheting or improving my culinary skills.
